The design and integration of a modern media room poses a number of challenges that a custom installation can overcome. A good custom installation will optimize the listening experience, viewing experience and room aesthetics to give you a unique environment to enjoy all your media.

Optimizing the listening experience

No room is an ideal listening environment. Objects within the room distort the sound by absorbing or reflecting it. These distortions are complex and can profoundly impact the listening experience, even when the most expensive amplifiers and sound sources are used.

We use a combination of good speakers, sound equalization amplifiers and acoustic room treatment to optimize the listening experience.

Our amplifiers are equipped with room equalization technology. This relatively new technology automatically compensates for room sound distortions, compensating the sound in both time and frequency for various listening positions in the room.

Optimizing the viewing experience

A great viewing experience relies on the combination of projector, screen, lighting and video processing equipment.

A media Room capable of Home cinema and Gaming, will have to deal with a wide range of video and audio sources, from Blu-Ray player, DVD player, Media Server and multiple gaming consoles. This diverse array of sources poses some specific challenges in design, the most obvious is being able to easily and instantly select the source.

A less obvious problem is that many of the sources were not designed for large screen playback. The resolution and refresh rates are not optimized for big screen viewing. This is where the video processor comes in. A video processor is capable of adjusting the resolution and refresh rate of multiple sources and output these with an optimal resolution and refresh rate for the display. Many amplifiers and displays now come with a form of video processor already integrated. While these integrated solutions do a reasonable job, they are no comparison to a dedicated and correctly set-up video processor that a custom installation can provide.
