Designing, Installing and Managing Your Project
Here at Piquant Design we follow a structured design and implementation process, which keeps you the client as the highest priority. We utilize the latest CAD and design tools to generate, analyze, document, maintain and update the system design throughout the project.
An overview of our residential system process follows:
Initial Consultation and Outline Proposal
An initial consultation with you either at our design studio or on site is used to identify your needs, budget and expectations. We understand your lifestyle and how comfortable you are with technology in order to be able to propose a system you will feel comfortable with.
We develop a proposal that will define the system recommendations, budgetary guidelines and an overview of the system capabilities. This includes identification of the finest equipment available within the budget, balancing your needs with performance.
Preliminary Design
We visit the site and liaise with other design professionals to understand how to integrate the custom installation into your project.
We Design the Lighting, Audio, Media and Communication systems (as applicable) and overlay these on your architectural and interior design plans.
We produce a room-by-room functionality specification, identifying what the system will and will not do.
We generate installation plans and coordinate with other design professional and contractors to plan and quote the installation.
Detailed Design and Installation
During this phase we generate the necessary detailed installation diagrams.
Wiring infrastructure is installed.
Equipment is procured and tested before delivery to the site.
Once plastering and building work is complete, we install the equipment racks, terminate all wiring and install speakers, control devices and TV systems.
Setup and Commissioning
We setup and program the necessary systems. This may include presetting lighting scenes, calibrating speaker systems and configuring remote control devices.
We walk the customer through the system and leave a detailed operating instruction manual.
We return on site after a week or two to review the system and to answer any questions or concerns. Where necessary we will reprogram, retrain or adjust the systems to ensure all is working fine.
Support
We agree a services contract that is tailored for the type of installation and systems used. We then periodically check-in to ensure the system is performing to requirements.
